A message from the Executive Team

As members of the executive committee, we wanted to share with you all a bit of background into how our amazing club runs from day to day. We are lucky to have dedicated team members who make Ringwood Swimming Club such a special and thriving community. This includes both our paid employees and our parent volunteers, who contribute their time and efforts to ensure the club runs smoothly and offers a positive experience for all our swimmers.

Over the last few weeks, there have been a few changes to timetables and pools etc. We understand that sometimes changes to pools, changes to training times, and pool closures can be frustrating for our families, and we do apologise for the inconvenience caused. The club’s main form of communication is through Operoo, which is where all important updates regarding training times, events, and changes will be communicated. By staying on top of Operoo messages, you will ensure you don’t miss any critical information about your child’s swimming schedule.

We understand that our families are busy, however it is essential that we all respect and appreciate the hard work that our coaches, Lesley, and committee members put in to ensure the disruption to training is as minimal as possible.  Coordinating training sessions for the entire club is a big job, and our team gives their time and energy to support the growth and success of the club with minimal disruption. We ask that everyone—parents, swimmers, and visitors—treat them with the kindness, patience, and respect they deserve.  As with all other workplaces, offensive language, and abuse towards RSC staff will not be tolerated. RSC partners with Maroondah Leisure to use their facilities, club room and run our meets. We kindly ask that our families also show the Maroondah Leisure staff the same respect.

The collaborative spirit of our club is one of its greatest strengths, and we want to continue fostering a positive, respectful atmosphere for everyone involved. Should you have any concerns or suggestions, we encourage you to reach out to the appropriate club representative in a constructive manner, keeping in mind the importance of maintaining open, respectful communication.

Our club is run by a group of parent volunteers, known as the committee. Many of our RSC committee members hold full-time jobs and still put in countless hours to ensure the club operates effectively. These individuals dedicate their personal time to organizing events, planning swim meets and ensuring that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. As a club we are also lucky to have some paid employees, including our wonderful coaches and administration officer (Lesley).

Currently, our committee, coaches and Lesley, are busy preparing for this Sunday's encouragement meet, the upcoming team trip to Adelaide in March, Nationals in April, the April Aggregate, the RSC Club Championship meet in May, and our annual Club presentation night in June.  None of these amazing opportunities or events can happen without the help of our volunteer organisers and staff.

Thank you for your ongoing support and for being an integral part of our Ringwood Swimming Club family. The committee is committed to ensuring all of our families feel valued, heard, and comfortable in the world of swimming. Over the next few months some exciting things are happening around the club, and we will continue to keep you all updated via the weekly date or via Operoo.
