🧮 Maths 🔢
In Foundation, we do a Number Talk each week to help build strong number fluency and flexible thinking in maths. These short, focused sessions encourage students to talk about numbers, notice patterns, and explain their thinking.
This week, our focus is on Part-Part-Whole, and we’ve been playing a fun game called Part-Part Grab. In this game, students grab two number cards that together make the total card. For example, if the total is 6, they might grab 4 and 2, or 5 and 1!
Another much-loved game is More or Less. In this fast-paced activity, students flip over a card and quickly snap the number that is more! It’s a fun and active way to compare numbers and practise subitising and number recognition.
Through games like these, our Preps are developing strong number sense – and having lots of fun along the way!
