This term in STEM, the Grade 3–6 students are exploring the fascinating world of Life Cycles and Ecosystems. They are learning how living things grow and change over time, from birth through to adulthood, and how these life cycles can differ between animals, plants, and other organisms. Students are also investigating ecosystems—how living things depend on each other and their environment to survive. In the coming weeks, the students will be making a stop motion video and will need Stop Motion Studio downloaded on their iPad to complete this. It is a free app to download and looks like the image below.
The Foundation to Grade 2 students are learning about Earth and Space, with a focus on the differences between day and night. They are exploring what we see in the sky during the day—like the Sun, clouds, and birds—and what we see at night, such as the Moon and stars. Through fun and hands-on activities, students are learning that the Earth spins on its axis, which causes the change from day to night. They are also discovering how the sky looks different throughout the day and how these changes affect our daily lives.
