This term in PE, the Grade 3–6 students are working on their abilities in a wide range of sporting activities. Kicking off with Cross Country (endurance running), which will transition into ball skills and games - Basketball, Netball and finally rounding out the term with European Handball.
The Foundation to Grade 2 students are being further exposed to core fundamental movement skills and elements within game play.
These students will being with Fundamental Ball Movement Skills such as, catching and throwing, striking a ball with a bat, hitting a moving ball with a bat, ball kicking and dribbling. The students will then finish the term testing their maneuvering and balancing skills on various obstacle courses, whilst also building their resilience and patience when working as a team during game play (learning how to be a good sport).

We have a busy term of sport to look forward to in term two! Below are some of the key dates and events we have coming up:
House Cross Country - Friday 2nd May
Student's wear their house colours and cheer for their classmates as they tackle the cross country course around the school! Grade's 3-6 run in the morning, F-2 run after recess. Any parent helpers who would like to come along and assist are welcome.
District Cross Country will be held at Ruffey Lake Park on Friday 23rd May.
Gymnastics - May and June
Our Grade 3-6 students will be participating in the gymnastics program at the Donvale Indoor Sports Centre throughout the term.
Winter Round Robin Sports - Thursday 5th June and Thursday 26th June
Grade 5 and 6 student's will be battling it out in soccer, football, teeball, netball and volleyball at the Winter Round Robin Sports.
Girls AFL 9s Carnival - Friday 27th June
A small group of Grade 5 and 6 girls will represent Donvale at the Division Girls AFL 9s carnival in Week 10 - good luck girls!
