Principal's Report
Dear Families and Friends,
We’re already halfway through Term 2 – time really is flying! It’s been a busy and productive fortnight, and I want to thank everyone for the continued energy and support that makes our school such a special place to belong. 🌟
👏 Spotlight on Our Education Assistants (EAs)
Our incredible Education Support staff (EAs) continue to step up in amazing ways to support phonics instruction across our classrooms. Each week, they attend dedicated Phonics Master Classes to build their skills and confidence in delivering small-group instruction. They also meet every Monday with their classroom teacher to review the weekly plan and make sure everything is aligned.
We’re so proud of the commitment, flexibility, and care our EAs bring to their work each day. Their efforts are making a real difference in how our students engage with phonics and grow in their learning. Thank you for all that you do – we appreciate you more than words can say! 💙
💐 Mother’s Day Morning Tea
A big thank you to all the incredible mums, nanas, aunties, and special loved ones who joined us for our Mother’s Day Celebration on Friday, May 9. It was such a joy to share morning tea with you and show our appreciation for the strong women in our students’ lives. What a wonderful way to connect and celebrate together!
As a reminder, all family members are always welcome to visit our Water Lily Café for lunch, morning tea, or a hot drink any day between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm. 💖
🧢 Day for Dolly
Last Friday we proudly recognised Day for Dolly. Students and staff wore blue in support of kindness, inclusion, and the powerful message that:
“Speak, even if your voice shakes.”
Thank you for helping us spread this important message across our school.
📚 Phonics in Action!
We’ve been blown away by the progress our students are making in phonics this term. Staff have really embraced our Explicit Improvement Agenda, and it’s been fantastic to see consistent teaching and small-group instruction happening right across the school.
Keep an ear out for your child talking about the sounds they’re learning – we love celebrating their growth and confidence in reading and writing!
As always, if you have any questions, ideas, or just want to catch up – feel free to give us a call or pop in. We love working in partnership with you to build a great future for our students.
Warm regards
Dehlia
