Another intriguing round of footy where no-one managed to tip all nine results. We did have three people who managed to pick 8/9 and a further 23 people who did very well and got 7/9. Of those that picked 8/9, Michael Eaton was closest (11 points) to the margin in Essendon’s narrow win over North Melbourne and as such is this week’s winner of the $50. Congratulations Michael
With regard to the overall leaderboard, Jim Gordon is our new leader on 54, we have three people on 53 with a further eight people just two back on 52.
Fremantle v Collingwood – 9th v 2nd
Collingwood has a pretty good record at Optus Stadium and are in pretty good form despite an unlucky loss on the weekend. Fremantle were simply horrible against St Kilda and as an absolute minimum must go close to winning this game;
St Kilda v Carlton – 10th v 13th
This is only the 3rd time since 2016 that these sides have played at the G. Tough game to pick;
Melbourne v Hawthorn – 15th v 3rd
Max Gawn will find Lloyd Meek a much tougher opponent than Matt Flynn but interestingly Hawthorn hasn’t beaten Melbourne since 2017;
Essendon v Sydney – 11th v 14th
Sydney has won the last two games played between these sides at Marvel Stadium. I’m not convinced about the bona fides of either of these sides just yet;
Gold Coast v Western Bulldogs – 4th v 6th
This game is being played in the NT so no home ground advantage for the Suns;
Port Adelaide v Adelaide – 12th v 5th
Adelaide has won three of the last four clashes between these sides and are in better form right now, but anything can happen in a Showdown;
Richmond v West Coast – 16th v 18th
West Coast has not beaten Richmond at the G since 2015 and while this (on paper) is one of their best chances for a win this season I doubt many will pick them;
Geelong v GWS – 7th v 8th
GWS has actually won the last four games between these sides down at GMHBA Stadium but have lost their last three games so are not in great form; and
North Melbourne v Brisbane – 17th v 1st
While this game is being played in Tasmania, it’s hard to see anything other than a win to Brisbane.
