Reflecting and growing together: Year 11/12 Retreats

On 1–2 May, the Year 11 and 12 students took time out of their busy schedules to pause and reflect during their retreats. The Year 11 theme was 'People of Compassion', focusing on compassion for oneself and others. The program helped the students bond as a year group and encouraged them to empathise with others.

The Year 12 retreat, titled 'People of the Lantern', encouraged students to reflect on the symbol of Nano Nagle’s lantern and challenged them to think about ways they could emulate her and bring hope to the world. They participated in a range of activities, from quiet and reflective to collaborative and energetic. They also spent time developing the legacy they hope to leave behind this year. Highlights included indoor rock climbing, team-building activities, meditation by lantern light, a beach walk and Mass.

Thanks go to the staff who supported both days, particularly Marty Ogle, who facilitated parts of both retreats. The participating students should also be congratulated for their enthusiasm and participation.
