Honouring Nano Nagle, the lady with the lantern
On Tuesday 6 May, our Presentation faith community gathered in the Nagle Centre to remember and celebrate Nano Nagle, the lady with the lantern who taught us to live lives of hospitality, compassion and simplicity.
Our Nano Nagle Mass was a special opportunity to honour Nano, the founder of the Sisters of the Presentation, the first Irish religious order dedicated to education and social justice. With an inspiring homily from Father Bernard Perera, beautiful hymns led by our choir and symbols from our Presentation story, we were reminded of Nano's guiding light and enduring legacy.
As the Presentation Sisters prepare to celebrate their 250th anniversary in December this year, our College looks forward to more meaningful opportunities to join together, reflect on our journey and give thanks to the sisters for their dedication and significant impact on our community.
A heartfelt thank you to our very own Presentation Sisters, four of whom we were privileged to have in attendance today.
Mother's Day Breakfast
We had a fantastic time this morning hosting our annual Mother's Day Breakfast. We shared laughter and love with mothers, grandmothers, aunties and all the incredible motherly figures who provide our students strength, compassion, resilience and selflessness every day.
Guests were treated to warm croissants filled with ham, cheese and tomato; granola and yoghurt, fresh fruit and chia puddings, as well as coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
Thank you to all staff and students involved in organising this wonderful occasion, including the Murphy's Café team for supplying the delicious buffet breakfast spread; and of course, thank you to our special guests for joining us – we wish you all a very happy Mother's Day for Sunday!
