This year signals the end of our current 4-year School Strategic Plan, with the school review taking place in Term 4. As part of the process, the school policies and implementation of Child Safety Standards is audited and checked in great detail. This audit began on Wednesday, with the initial meeting to look at the expectations and to provide evidence of where and how we have been implementing them. There will be some follow up over the next 6 weeks to provide further evidence. If we aren’t meeting the expectations, this time will be used to work out an implementation process. After the meeting, there were only a few pieces of evidence that couldn’t be produced on the spot. Now we have to wait while the audit is finalised to know if there is any further work to be done. I’d like to thank Kylie Eriksson for all her hard work and efforts, which started last year, as she has been a huge driving force in updating our policies.

The architect was at school this week to discuss their current plans for the student toilet upgrade. After some minor adjustments, we have signed off on the overall design! Due to the age and nature of the building, and the limited amount of funding, the layout of the spaces will remain fairly similar. The cost would increase dramatically if we were to move pipes, and drains in the concrete. With careful consideration of our limitations, the student toilets will receive a complete refurbishment. If there is enough funding left over, the staff toilets will also get a makeover.
The next step is that we will receive some samples from the architect and we will then seek student input on the colour scheme. While there is some ability to choose colours, the architect already selected the basic colour palette based on the new school colour scheme. More details to come soon!
