Mathematics Open Morning

We had a fantastic morning exploring Mathematics alongside our families! Our Year 6 students tackled a range of problem-solving tasks that sparked both challenge and rich discussion. It was wonderful to see students and parents working together, engaging in meaningful mathematical conversations, and supporting one another to find solutions.

A big thank you to all the parents who joined us and helped make the morning such a success!

How about trying this challenge at home:

Education Week - Buddy Session

During Education Week the Year 6 students read the National Simultaneous Storytime book The Truck Cat to their buddies and then did some activities based around the book.

The Truck Cat is a heartwarming picture book written by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell. It tells the story of Tinka, a cat who lives and travels in a truck with his human companion, Yacoub, a migrant navigating life in a new country. As they journey together, both grapple with feelings of displacement and the search for belonging. When Tinka and Yacoub are unexpectedly separated, their determination to reunite leads them to new connections and a deeper understanding of home and identity. The book explores themes of immigration, identity, and the bonds between humans and animals, making it a poignant read for young audiences.

The Year 6 students assisted their buddies to complete activities that looked at what the story was about and how to relate it to our own identities.
