Our students have been exploring a variety of exciting topics in Mandarin this month. From singing songs to performing dialogues, students across all year levels have been actively engaged in learning the Chinese language and culture through fun, hands on and meaningful activities!
🐣 Foundation
We have been learning how to ask “How are you feeling?”, count numbers and identify colours in Mandarin. Students have enjoyed creating mini counting books and practising how to write Chinese characters. They have also been actively engaged in songs and fun games to enhance their learning experience.
✨Year 1 and 2
We have been reviewing basic greetings, number counting, body parts and uses of water. They have particularly enjoyed singing and reciting the Months of the Year and Days of the Week. Through engaging games and interactive activities, students are building confidence and having fun while learning.
🎭 Year 3 and 4
We have been revisiting greetings, number counting, colours, telling the time and naming favourite fruits. A highlight has been working in pairs to perform a doctor and patient role play in Mandarin. This allowed students to apply vocabulary and sentence structures they have learned to express how they feel when hurt or unwell.
🧠 Year 5 and 6
Students have been reviewing self-introductions, number counting, colours, and how to use different measure words to describe the number of body parts people have in Mandarin. They also researched and gave presentations about China. Working in groups and using ICT, students explored topics of interest, deepening their understanding of Chinese culture.
