Water Dragon 1 & 2 

We are thrilled to share that Water Dragon Pod has embarked on an exciting journey into phonics with the InitiaLit program this term! This evidence-based whole-class literacy program is designed to provide our students with the essential core knowledge and strong foundations needed to become successful readers and writers. All our teachers have undergone comprehensive training, and we are having a fantastic time utilising the brand-new resources provided by the school for our K-2 classrooms. 

In our pictures, you’ll see students actively engaged in using sound boxes to sound out words, flashcards for tricky words, and our new decodable readers that practice our target sounds. We’re also excited about our sounds and words books, which are instrumental in supporting our learning. Each student is being engaged, challenged, and supported in their unique literacy journey, making this a truly enriching experience for all!
