Principal's News

Dear Families and Friends of Trinity Primary School,

It has been a huge few weeks in our Catholic community with the passing of Pope Francis and the election of our new Pope, Pope Leo XIV. On Sunday May 18th many millions of people around the world will be watching the inauguration Mass which will take place in St Peter’s Square at 10am local time (6pm AEST).  Our prayers will be with Pope Leo as he begins the enormous and complex job of leading the Catholic Church during what we know are challenging times in our world today.

"Lord God, we give thanks for the guidance and leadership you provide through our Holy Father. We pray for his strength and well-being, that he may continue to lead the Church with wisdom and compassion. We also ask for your guidance in discerning the future leadership of the Church, that you may grant the Church a leader filled with faith, love, and a deep commitment to your will.

Amen."

Mother's Day

I am hopeful that all our mother's and mother figures were able to enjoy last Sunday celebrating with their families. No doubt there are also many of us who may no longer have their mother in their physical presence and so it is a time to think back and remember them also.  On Friday we had our Mother's Day breakfast, which was really well attended, and I hope enabled many of us to connect with other members of the school community. Our Preps also put on a very special morning celebration in their classrooms as an added way of celebrating our mothers and mother figures. Even Mr. Ru and Ms. Ellen did not escape having their nails painted by some very enthusiastic prep students whilst they were visiting the classrooms.  Members of the MACS media team also contacted me earlier in the week to see if they could come and film a short Mother's Day video for the MACS Social pages. A big thank you to the students and their mums who were, at very short notice, able to drop in and be interviewed by the MACS team. In case you missed it on our socials I have included the link below.

Parents & Friends

A special thankyou to our parents Amanda, Melissa and Lisa who will form a new Parents & Friends committee to ensure that we have a strong and active group to plan, organize and run the many events our school needs to have throughout the year. Amanda and Melissa will share the role of President and Lisa has volunteered to act as our P&F secretary. Of course, this is not a job for just these three and we will need everyone's support in volunteering and assisting in many ways throughout the year. We know that not everyone has the capacity or time to dedicate to roles such as these and so we are truly thankful to each of them for giving their time and energy to do this. I am hopeful that you will all offer them your support in ways you are able to in order to help make their job an easier and more successful one. I have included a Google Form HERE and ask that you all complete this to share your support for our P&F.

Careers Week

A very big thank you to Ms. Kate for all her organization in planning and running our Careers Week celebrations. We had a very special dress up day on Wednesday which enabled our children to model some of their dream jobs they are hoping to do when they grow up. I am sure for some of them these dreams will one day come true and who knows who will see from Trinity doing amazing things in the future.  Thankyou also to those parents who volunteered to come and talk to our children about their own careers. There were some very inspiring and interesting presentations and demonstrated just how talented so many members of our own school community are.

Trinity’s new Little Library - Ms Belinda

Have you used our new Little Library yet? It is out the front of our school, just to the side of the office. Please come visit and take a book home to enjoy. If you have any spare books to give, please just put them inside. Only children’s books, please.

Enjoy!

Communication

A reminder to all that our first port of call when communicating about our children is generally your child's classroom teacher whether in person or via email. Of course, there are also times when the communication may be directed to myself or one of the school leaders. Our doors are always open for a chat or for more formal matters please email the office or call to make an appointment.
