G ’day everyone,

As we approach the end of the year, you might think it’s time to wind down—but it’s been full steam ahead here at Kurnai College!

We wrapped up the term with our HeadStart Program, followed by a couple of big events: a fun-filled day at Gumbuya World and our College Awards celebration.

The HeadStart Program offered our students a chance to gear up for 2025 by stepping into their new classes and getting a preview of what’s to come in their studies. It was also fantastic to welcome next year’s Year 7 cohort as they navigated their three-day Orientation Program at our Morwell and Churchill Campuses.

Gumbuya World once again provided a wonderful way to end the year. The weather was on our side, allowing students and staff to relax, have fun, and bond outside the classroom. Whether it was splashing in the wave pool or enjoying the rides, our students made the most of the day, representing Kurnai College with pride. We hope to make this a tradition for years to come.

A huge congratulations to all our Year 12 students who successfully completed their VCE or VCE VM. Whether they’re heading into further study, training, or the workforce, we are confident they’ll thrive in their chosen paths. Congratulations everyone.

A special shout-out goes to our 2024 VCE dux, Eric Wang. Eric’s incredible achievement is a testament to his dedication and perseverance, especially given the language challenges he faced as an international student arriving at Kurnai in 2018. Well done, Eric!

As always, the end of the year brings farewells and fresh beginnings. Saying goodbye to our senior students is always bittersweet, and we also bid farewell to some staff members. We wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.

On a brighter note, we’re thrilled to welcome a number of new teachers from across the globe to Kurnai College. This time last year, we were grappling with staff shortages, but we’ve made great progress in building a strong team for 2025. We deeply appreciate these educators for taking the leap to join us and look forward to embracing the diverse perspectives they’ll bring to our Learning Community.

Wishing you all a safe and joyful festive season! We can’t wait to see you back at Kurnai in the new year.
