It has been a very busy end to Term 1 in the 3/4 area! We're very proud of how everyone has settled into the year and we've already achieved a lot! Here's what we have been up to to end the term.
In maths, we’ve been exploring measurement by measuring ourselves and objects around the classroom. We’ve used rulers and tape measures to compare lengths, heights, and widths. Students have enjoyed estimating, measuring, and recording their results. It’s been a hands-on way to understand how measurement works in the real world!
After reading 'Off We Go Around Australia' by Roland Harvey, we created our own illustrations inspired by his unique style. Using fine lines, vibrant colors, and lots of tiny details, we drew busy scenes that told their own stories. Students included funny moments, hidden surprises, and Australian landscapes, just like Roland Harvey does. It was a fantastic way to explore storytelling through art.
On Tuesday afternoon, our school’s cultural celebration was full of fun and excitement! The 3/4 students danced to the lively 'Tarantella', participated in a thrilling scavenger hunt, and enjoyed tasty treats from the food trucks. Everyone had a blast playing lawn games and celebrating the diversity of our school community. We're very proud of everyone for getting up and having a go at a very fast and tricky dance.
We're very excited to head off on our camp to Arrabri Lodge in Term 3! The details are all available in Compass and the deposit needs to be paid by Thursday, 24th of April to secure your child's spot. Thank you to the large number of parents and students who have already paid their deposit and given consent for camp. Camp is a great time for learning about ourselves and pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones so we encourage all students to attend.
Enjoy a happy and restful break and we will see you in Term 2 for lots of learning!
