Principal Report

Mrs Deborah Crane

Thank you

Dear PVNPS Community: Staff, Students and Families.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support and passion for everything we are about at PVNPS. We strive for developing great learners and citizens for all our students. We can do this by your support in allowing us to implement new initiatives and current based evidence teaching practices. Your support to us, by paying your Parent payments, helps us to provide even more resources in our programs - please take a look at the wonderful artwork that is being created by stduents in Visual Arts. Ms Denise has included many photos in this week's newsletter.

Thank you to our terrific school council and especially now that we have four new members starting next term. We still have two vacancies if anyone is interested.

School Council raised $2600 at the Bunnings BBQ and have provided an extra $1000 in both our Visual Arts Program and our Physical Education Program. Mr Rees and Ms Denise were excited about this and have already planned the spending on equipment for the students. I know Ms Denise was after purchasing some table top easels for students to use in art lessons. How amazing would this be to see our students as ‘real’ artists in front of an easel.

Cultural Celebration

It was an amazing afternoon watching our students perform their dances they learnt through the 'footsteps' incursion. Thank you to Ms Davies for all her organisation and enthusiasm to make this event run smoothly.

It was great to see many families stay longer at the end of the day to enjoy our 'community' afternoon with activities, food trucks and of course our 'Family Scavenger Hunt'.

Congratulations to Chester and Maisie and their mum for their divide and conquer strategy to make them our winners. Dimi had some great things for families to locate around our school, and they even had to figure out some clues.

Many thanks to our new parent to our school, Tritha, who volunteered to share her cultural dance from Nepal. Tritha and her sister bought me a sari and dressed me in it as I was asked to get up and learn to dance with Tritha. I absolutely loved wearing the Sari and enjoyed participating in the dance - thank you so much for sharing this with our school community.

Farewell & Hello

We wish Ms Elizabeth all the very best as she goes on parental leave today, expecting her first child at the start of May. With saying farewell for now - we also say hello.

Mrs Barr has worked at PVNPS for some years now doing emergency work for us, but now has taken up a three day a week classroom role in 1/2 C. Mrs Barr will grade share with Mrs Castellas. Mrs Ritson is a highly experienced teacher, and we welcome Mrs Ritson to our enthusiastic and amazing team of teachers.

Softfall Topup!
