Library Rules
The library is open at lunch and recess Monday – Thursday and closed at recess on Fridays.
Students may borrow up to 2 fiction and 2 non-fiction books at a time for up to two weeks, with renewals being possible after speaking to library staff.
Parents’ permission is required for junior students to borrow books allocated to senior students; permission slips are located in the library.
Students wanting to use computers in the library for schoolwork or homework have priority access to those computers.
Premier’s Reading Challenge - 2025
Students need to complete the reading of 20 books to achieve the Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) Award. They are required to read a minimum of 10 books from the Premier’s Reading Challenge book list and will be able to include 10 books of their choice on their student reading records.
All students will be able to include the books they’re reading as part of collaborative reading with teachers or parents/caregivers, either in person or on-line. Students who complete the Challenge in 2025 will be receiving a certificate from the Premier of NSW, as well as a gift from the library. The PRC books at Evans High School can be identified and distinguished from the rest of the fiction books as they’re kept in a separate PRC section and have PRC labels.
Library Monitors – 2025
I’d like to present our library monitors for Term 1, 2025. The help that our library monitors provide is essential in keeping the library functional and manageable on a daily basis, and, when performing their roles, they’re picking up some handy skills such as using the Oliver system’s circulation desk to process returns and renewals, shelving and understanding inventory. Thank you for helping make our library friendly and easy to use!
