The focus for the Third Week of Advent is JOY.
Take time to think of the moments that others have given you joy and you have provided joy in the lives of others.
How can we bring joy to those we meet everyday in the lead up to Christmas?
The students have begun working on the Jesse Tree and learning about the people who waited for the birth of Jesus.
Our combined whole school Jesse Tree is taking shape and the classes are adding their character as they learn about their story of waiting for the coming of Jesus.
Below is a link for a family prayer for the Third Week of Advent.
Thank you for the donations of gifts for our Giving Tree collection.
We look forward to handing the donated items to the representatives from the St Michael's Vinnies group at the Christmas Carols on the Green this evening.
Your donations will provide joy for people in need at Christmas this year.
Thank you for your generosity, it is greatly appreciated.
You are warmly invited to join us for the End of School Year Mass on Friday 13 December at 10.00 am.
The amazing school choir will lead the singing. The school leaders and students from each year level will read the scripture readings and Prayers of the Faithful.
The 2025 Year 6 leaders will be announced at the Mass and the current Year 6 leaders will hand over the 'light of leadership' to the 2025 school leaders.
For pilgrims of hope
We pray that this Jubilee Year strengthens our faith, helping us to recognise the Risen Christ in our daily lives, and that it may transform us into pilgrims of Christian hope.
Amen
Pope Francis, has decided that 2025 will be a year of Jubilee, something which happens every 25 years.
The theme is “Pilgrims of Hope”, and it will be a year of hope for a world suffering the impacts of war, the ongoing effects of COVID-19 pandemic, and a climate crisis.
In Australia, the Jubilee Year 2025 began on Sunday 24 November 2024, the Feast of our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of the Universe, and will conclude on Sunday 23 November 2025, the Feast of our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe.
Events will take place over the next 12 months to celebrate the Jubilee Year 2025.
At school we are incorporating the theme of Pilgrims of Hope in our learning and teaching as well as our school expectations.
