From the Year 1 Classroom
Well, that’s a wrap on the 2024 school year!
We are very sad to be saying goodbye to our Year 1 treasures but also very excited for them to move into Year 2, where they will continue to do awesome things. We have said it over and over again, but we have absolutely LOVED teaching this amazing cohort of students.
Highlights over the past couple of weeks have been:
- Letter to Santa: We have enjoyed learning about the craft of letter writing and our letters to Santa were delivered to the Post Office last week. How cool it was to receive a reply from Santa.
- In Inquiry, we celebrated our learning about ‘Weather’ by making posters to give facts and information about a chosen weather pattern. We were very impressed with the presentation of these posters and the children’s interest and enthusiasm.
- Christmas Art: We have been busy getting into the festive spirit by creating some terrific art works.
- Visit to Bentley Wood (Woods Point) Aged Care: Last Friday, we walked over to Woods Point to sing some songs and deliver Christmas cards to the residents. Watching the children bring joy to the elderly was the most beautiful experience.
- Christmas Concert: Take 2 of the Christmas concert was a success on Monday. It was great to showcase the work the children had put into learning their songs. We were very proud of their performance and thank you to the families who were able to come along. The SPIRIT was definitely in the room!
- End of year excursion to Tunzafun: What fun we had at Tunzafun! There were some pretty crazy drivers on the dodgem cars and some impressive shots were played during the Mini Golf rounds. It was so nice to celebrate the fabulous year with the kids and see their beautiful smiles as they enjoyed the morning out with their peers.
Thank you all for your support throughout the year and trusting us with your children. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas, stay safe in the holidays and we look forward to seeing you all around in 2025.
WHAT A WAY TO CELEBRATE OUR YEAR TOGETHER! THE SMILES SAY IT ALL!
Take care,
Kristy, Sarah, Mik and Michelle
