Year 9 Health and Disease Unit

Science has recently purchased a new incubator with the help of the NHS P&C. Staff and students would like to thank the NHS P&C for their generous contribution towards this. 

The incubator is currently being used with Year 9’s unit “Health and Disease”. Students have been doing experiments to determine the amount of microbial growth on hands before and after washing them and determining the effectiveness of different antibacterial substances. They are doing this by leaving fingerprints on agar plates and leaving the agar plates in the incubator to see any microbial growth.
