Mechanics Program

This term, Year 8 and 9 students have had the opportunity to participate in a Mechanics Program at school. Students learnt essential skills such as changing a tyre and checking the tyre pressure, tyre rotations, checking the level of and completing water and oil changes, testing and changing a battery and using equipment such as jacks and ramps safely.

The highlight of the term was working on a 1951 Chevrolet Belair where students were shown how to time an engine and saw the inlet and exhaust valves in operation.

All students have really grown in confidence and knowledge of what it takes to maintain a car after participating in this program.
