Bike Ed

This Friday 13th December,  marks our celebration ride for our Bike Ed program that Year 3 students have been involved in this term. Students will venture out of school grounds and take a ride along the path through surrounding tracks and reserves, including Yarrunga, Candlebark and Lipscome park. At the end of the session, students will enjoy a BBQ lunch, drink and icy pole. Qualified teachers and accredited Bike Ed instructors will be along side students throughout the ride.

Safety vests will be provided for all students and it is encouraged that students bring their own bike and helmet for this event. We do have bikes for students to borrow if need be, however these are limited.

Make sure you consent to the compass event to ensure your child doesn’t miss out!

Library News

Library Books

As at Wednesday there were still 44 students with 63 books out from the library. These books have a value of nearly $1000. Students with overdue books will have emails sent out either today or tomorrow. It is important that these books are returned so that students can resume borrowing at the beginning of Term One.

Holiday Reading

We encourage parents and caregivers to continue to read aloud to students during the summer school holidays. This year local libraries are running The Big Summer Read which challenges you to pick up a book and keep reading over the holidays. Anyone between the ages of 0-18 are welcome to participate! Independent and non-independent readers can log any book they read, that is read to them, or listened to as an audiobook. Register for The Big Summer Read here. Read and log least 10 books and be in the running for some fantastic prizes from your local library! And it is free!

All the best for the festive season.
