Foundation - A Year In Review
What a year!
It only seems like yesterday that our Foundation students entered the classroom in their shiny, new school uniforms. Friendships quickly began to form, routines became mastered and their confidence began to blossom! We have so loved seeing all of our students embrace the challenge of learning new things, developing new connections and finding their place in our Whitehorse Primary School community.
There have been so many highlights for our students. Term one included our Teddy Bear’s Picnic and celebrating our school’s diversity during Harmony Day. We began fortnightly Garden sessions with Ashley as we explored the concept of sustainability during Term 2. We even made our own beeswax wraps! P.M.P. was also a great chance to develop our fine and gross motor skills, and see our fabulous family members who came in to help us!
Term 3 was the party of the year when we celebrated 100 days at school. It was so lovely seeing students wearing their creative t-shirts that showcased…you guessed it…the number 100! Life Education was so much fun and we even got to give Harold the Giraffe a pat! We also had visits from many of our community helpers. The Police and Firefighters impressed us with their uniforms and cool vehicles. We finished off the term splashing around the pool during our Swimming Program.
With excitement we boarded the bus to the Sea LIfe Aquarium early in Term 4. We watched all of the under the sea creatures in awe! We even saw Pesto the penguin (back when he was big and fluffy!) We had fun with our big buddies, cooked up a storm in the kitchen and enjoyed delicious food on our pizza and hotdog days. Luckily there are holidays because we are exhausted from all of the fun things to do at school!
Foundation students… Thank you for making this year so special for your teachers. We know that each one of you is certain to soar in Grade 1 next year!
