Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the final Whitehorse Whisperer for the 2024 school year!

12 Months has flown by and I just want to start by acknowledging the students, staff and families at Whitehorse Primary School for their support throughout 2024. As someone new to the school I have been truly grateful for all the interactions I have had across the year with our community. The sense of school pride and commitment to our students is something special and makes Whitehorse a great place to be!

What a fantastic year we have had with so many significant events and, most importantly, our students receiving a high-quality education and achieving outstanding results across the entire curriculum. Throughout 2024 the children at Whitehorse Primary School have been recognised for their talents and skills, receiving not only school-based awards but awards from our wider community as well.

Congratulations to all of our students for their contribution to the school year – We are proud of all of you! We look forward to celebrating the final week of Term 4 with our school community and sharing in the achievements of our students as we collectively reflect on the 2024 school year.

Farewell to the Class of 2024!

Our 2024 Grade 6 students are now in their final weeks of primary school which was celebrated with our Graduation Ceremony last Thursday evening. It is an exciting time for any student moving on from the familiarity of their primary school and taking on the opportunities presented at secondary school. This year the Grade 6 students have set a strong example and have led the school with a true sense of respect, passion and pride.

I am absolutely delighted with the leadership of all our Grade 6 students particularly our 2024 School Captains (Lizzy and Callum) and Vice Captains (Ramona and Harper) who must be celebrated for their leadership commitment, endeavour and qualities. I look forward to seeing and hearing all about our Grade 6 students’ successes as they progress through their secondary education and beyond.

I would also like to wish all our Grade 6 students the very best in the upcoming years ahead and remind them that they are forever part of our Whitehorse Primary School community. I strongly encourage all of you to come back and visit us in the future!

Whitehorse Family Network/Helpers

Last Wednesday we held our thank you morning tea for our helpers and I was able to speak briefly about the importance and value these helpers bring to our students and our community. For those who were unable to attend I want to extend a sincere thank you to our wonderful team of parents, grandparents, friends and carers who have helped with many and varied events and programs throughout the year. On behalf of our students and staff, I would like to thank everyone for their support, assistance and encouragement in providing wonderful experiences for our students.

2025 Student Leaders:

This Friday, we will formally announce the 2025 Student Leaders at our final assembly. A sincere congratulations and a special well done to all those students and their families who were selected, as it really is an honour to be a school leader and represent your peers, teachers and our school community.

2025 Sports Uniform

Thank you to our Grade 6 leaders who have used their student voice over the year to develop a sports top for the students at Whitehorse PS in 2025 . This polo will be available late Term 1 through Spartan and will support students during PE and at school sports activities.

Happy holidays everyone. I sincerely wish all members of the Whitehorse Primary School community the very best throughout the forthcoming summer break.

To all members of our school community, Merry Christmas to you all and see you in 2025!
