English Wrap Up

Our students across all year levels have shown tremendous dedication in taking advantage of a variety of learning opportunities in English, building their skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. 

A special congratulations to our Year 12 students for their hard work and perseverance throughout the year, and for their ongoing commitment as they prepared for their exams. We wish all students a wonderful break and we are excited to see you all back in term 1 refreshed and ready to learn

In the final weeks, our junior students have completed a short poetry unit aimed at deepening their understanding of different writing structures and language choices for specific audiences and purposes. They explored a range of poetic forms, including haikus, limericks, shape poems, and line poems. Through this, students experimented with descriptive and figurative language, such as alliteration, similes, and metaphors, to create layers of meaning and effectively express, explain, or entertain, depending on their intended purpose.
