Senior School Report

Congratulations to our Year 12 Students:  ATAR Results!

This year, we proudly celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Year 12 students. The entire cohort has excelled, achieving the highest median study score in over 10 years. This is a remarkable milestone, and we commend every student for their hard work and dedication.

A special congratulations to Heath Agar, our Dux, who achieved an exceptional ATAR of 97.85. Heath’s perseverance and commitment has earned him a prestigious scholarship to the University of Melbourne, where he plans to study Science. This is an extraordinary accomplishment, and we are excited to see Heath’s future achievements.

We also recognise the incredible success of our VCE-VM students, many of whom have secured university placements and apprenticeships. These achievements highlight the diverse talents and pathways our students have pursued, showcasing their determination and adaptability.

To all our students: whether you achieved your dream ATAR, secured an apprenticeship, or completed your studies against the odds, your efforts this year have been truly inspiring. Remember, your ATAR is just one step in your journey, and there are countless paths to success.

A heartfelt thank you to the teachers, families, and friends who supported our students through this transformative year. Your encouragement and guidance have been invaluable. Celebrate this milestone with pride, and embrace the bright opportunities that lie ahead!

Swinburne University Visit

On Friday 22 November, a total of 51 of our Year 10 and Year 11 students along with three of their teachers attended an informative visit to Swinburne University of Technology. All students engaged in two out of five workshops with each led by current staff of the Hawthorn campus. The day began with a warm welcome by Mr. Sam Eddy, an ex-staff of our College who left our teaching community in 2022. Students were then led by two very dedicated university ambassadors who described a usual day in the life of a university student, and then swiftly followed by a tour of the campus.

After lunch, our students broke off into their workshops for some hands-on activities.

Here are some highlights from the students:

“I enjoyed the workshops, for example the mock trial. Everyone participated and we were able to see a brief overview of what a court feels like and looks like”.

Atasha Aioloupotea

“The bionic hand was really enjoyable as my peers and I were able to create a product similar to it. As well as the tour around Swinburne – the unique buildings and possible opportunities for the future”.

End of Year Camp: Phillip Island

This month, our Year 10 and Year 11 students attended an unforgettable camp at Phillip Island. The camp provided our students an excellent opportunity to challenge themselves and forge stronger connections with their peers.

The students embraced thrilling adventures such as the giant swing and high ropes course, demonstrating courage and teamwork. Canoeing, swimming, and a relaxing beach walk added a mix of fun and tranquillity to the experience, while a visit to the Nobbies allowed them to connect with nature and spot some of Phillip Island’s iconic penguins.

A trip to A Maze N’ Things theme park added another layer of excitement. The students tested their bravery on the vertical slide, navigated the giant maze with teamwork and communication, and marvelled at the park's optical illusions.

A big thank you to the staff and organisers who made this camp such a success.  This experience will surely be cherished as they continue their senior school journey!
