Respectful Behaviours within the School Community

As we approach the final week of Term 3, we want to remind all families that at BPS, we are dedicated to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone—students, staff, and families alike. It is important that we all contribute to upholding these values.

If you have any concerns regarding your child, please direct these to your child’s classroom teacher as the first point of contact. Our teachers are best positioned to listen, provide context, and collaborate with you towards a positive resolution.

To protect the wellbeing of all students, parents must not approach or engage with any other child regarding school matters. All concerns should be communicated through the school and classroom teachers.

Teachers are actively teaching throughout the day, but they will make every effort to respond to your concerns in a timely manner.

Our school community depends on trust and mutual respect. Therefore, we kindly ask families to avoid discussing other students or their families directly with one another.

Conversations about specific children outside of proper school channels can unintentionally cause distress, spread misinformation, or compromise privacy.

By adhering to these guidelines, we create an environment where every child feels safe, respected, and supported. Your cooperation is essential in fostering a positive school culture and ensuring the success and wellbeing of all students.

These expectations are outlined in our school policy, which you can view on the BPS website. We encourage all families to familiarise themselves with these guidelines.

Thank you for your understanding and partnership.

Success Stories

This marks the end of another productive term, and we are excited to share all our students’ successes. We’re thrilled to highlight the wonderful experiences students have been enjoying through our lunchtime clubs! These clubs have become a highlight of the school week, offering students a chance to explore their interests, build new friendships, and have fun in a relaxed, inclusive environment.

Our Chess Club has been a fantastic space for students to challenge their thinking and learn strategic skills while enjoying friendly competition. Lego Club continues to spark creativity and collaboration, with students working together to build imaginative creations. Meanwhile, our Arts and Crafts Club has been buzzing with colour and excitement, giving students a space to express themselves and take pride in their handmade projects.

In addition to our clubs, students have been showcasing some incredible work in STEM, particularly through a project focused on designing their own playgrounds. They’ve been applying design thinking, problem-solving, and creativity to imagine spaces that are safe, fun, and inclusive for everyone. It’s been inspiring to see the innovative ideas and teamwork students have brought to this challenge!

We also want to sincerely thank all the parents who took part in the recent Parent Opinion Survey. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and helps us continue to improve our school community.

It’s been fantastic to witness the enthusiasm, confidence, and joy these opportunities are bringing to our students. We love seeing them engaged and proud of their work—both in clubs and in the classroom.

Everyday Counts

Gallery Image

Attendance is currently being closely monitored by the Department of Education as a significant concern, especially when students are frequently late, picked up early, or absent for more than 10 days in a school year. These attendance issues will be addressed by our front office staff and teachers and discussed further during upcoming parent-teacher interviews.

A few important reminders for families:

  • Every day counts—missing school impacts your child’s learning progress and social connections.
  • Schools want to partner with parents. If you have any concerns about attendance, please contact the school promptly or record absences through Compass.
  • There is no safe number of days to miss school; even small amounts of missed time can have negative effects.
  • Speak positively about school and the importance of regular attendance.
  • Avoid scheduling routine medical or dental appointments during school hours and try not to plan family holidays during term time.
  • If you’re worried about your child’s attendance or wellbeing, please seek support from the school. We are here to work with you to support your child’s success.

Open and timely communication between parents and school is essential in addressing attendance concerns early and effectively.
