Year 10
'Prepare today, succeed tomorrow'
Term three has drawn to a close and what a term it has been for year 10s.
We have seen the transition into semester two subjects which has seen many students outside their comfort zone and taking their learning to new heights as the focus heads towards 2026.
The course counselling evening this term was a success and a great opportunity for families to come together with staff and look towards the future. We thank everyone for their involvement and think the year 10s have selected great pathways for not only Step Up in a few weeks’ time but 2026 and beyond.
A special shout out to three students who were successfully accepted into the Monash Scholars Program. This university initiative supports students to get a "head start" on university life by providing academic and personal development, career exploration, and networking opportunities with peers and faculty. Congratulations to Emily Baxter, Hossain Mohammad Farshad and Edie Smith.
Our year 10s have done our school community proud this week in completing their work experience. Many students have gained an insight into what a future career may look like and we are thankful for the many opportunities students have had from community connections. We are also proud of students who completed their work experience on site and worked on additions to the year 10 space.
Two standout examples from the many incredible opportunities students experienced are Jacob Booth, who represented our school proudly at Moorabbin Police Station through the Police Force Work Experience Program, and Charlotte Ward, who explored game design and programming at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, earning glowing feedback and inspiration for her future.
Parent teacher conferences were a great opportunity to speak with families and as always, if there is anything we can do to help, please reach out to the Year 10 team.
