Head of Year 10 lschuring@cns.catholic.edu.au
We are excited to announce that the Year 11 Mentor applications for 2026 are now open! This is a fantastic opportunity for students to step into leadership, guide younger students, and make a meaningful impact on our school community.
It has been exciting to see so many students already expressing their enthusiasm and keenness to take on a leadership role within the school. Application forms have been emailed to all students and must be submitted by the end of Week 9. We look forward to seeing our students rise to the challenge and take pride in their mentorship journey.
As we approach the end of the term, it is essential that Year 10 students maintain the College's high standards for uniform and personal presentation. This means coming to school each day in a complete and correct uniform, ensuring hairstyles remain neat and school-appropriate, and adhering to our jewellery policy, which permits only a watch and small, plain studs or sleepers.
Additionally, students must maintain appropriate grooming standards, including keeping nails at a reasonable length with natural or clear polish only (no artificial or fake nails), maintaining a clean-shaven appearance with no facial hair, and refraining from wearing false eyelashes or excessive makeup to school.
These expectations are consistently applied throughout the College to promote a professional appearance and demonstrate respect for our St Mary's community. As senior students, Year 10s play an important role in setting a positive example for younger year levels. We appreciate your ongoing support in upholding these standards at home.

It’s a great way to contribute your ideas, support our students and staff, and help shape our school’s direction. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, we’d love to hear from you!
Please feel free to get in touch smw.principal@cns.catholic.edu.au for more information or to submit your expression of interest by Friday, 12 September.
