Mrs Carolyn Parsell
Dear Parents and Carers,
Huge thanks to the parents who joined us for our work on the school Mission and Vision. The afternoon was very productive and affirming of the work we do at St Martha’s. The students will also have an opportunity to contribute to the process in Term 4. I look forward to sharing the results with the whole school community, so that we can all work together to fullfill our mission and strive for our vision.
It was with great joy that we gathered to listen to our ensemble groups last Friday afternoon. We were delighted to see so many parents taking the time to come along and support their children. It was great to see extended family members, aunts, uncles, grandparents and siblings at the event. The students from Year 3 to Stage 3 impressed everyone with the way they work together to deliver great performances. We give thanks to our Amadeus tutors for their instruction and passion. I could not be more proud of the magnificent effort from all the students. Thank-you to all the parents who support and encourage the students to practice regularly. Their enthusiasm is contagious.
Mrs DiNatali, who has done a wonderful job as our EAL/D teacher this year, has decided to take some extended leave. We thank Melissa for her work in this role and look forward to seeing her over the next 12 months as one of our regular casual teachers.
I am looking forward to my four weeks of leave next term. During my absence Mr Belcastro will be Acting Principal, Mrs Ronzini will be acting Assistant Principal and Mrs Danielle Cremona will be acting Religious Education Coordinator.
When I return we will have a wonderful list of exciting events, swimming lessons and carnival, 100 Years Family Mass, school picnic, graduation, Christmas concert and the end of year Mass. It will be a very busy run to the end of the year.
Looking towards 2026, I have decided to take some long service leave. My granddaughter, who was born in my early days at St Martha’s will start school in 2026 and I would like to be able to spend some more time being a hands-on grandma. I will be away for the first two terms and the Sydney Catholic Schools team are working on the staffing arrangements during my leave. I know our beautiful welcoming community will support whoever takes on the role in my absence. I hope you all have a blessed holiday period and I am excited to catch up with you all in Week 5 of next Term.
Peace and best wishes,
Carolyn Parsell
