Sports Update
Sweat, Smiles & School Pride
It’s been a huge couple of weeks in sport for our students, with both District Athletics and District Basketball on the calendar.
At Athletics, we were so proud of the effort, determination, and team spirit shown by everyone. The cheering and chanting could be heard echoing across the fields, as our athletes supported one another in every event. It was awesome to see our students stand out in their brand new school jerseys, they looked great out on the track and field!
We’re excited to announce the students who have progressed through to the Divisional Stage at Meadowglen Athletics Track on Friday 12 September. Congratulations and good luck to:
Bellamy, Osian, Leo, Mackie, Miro, Ted, Pernille, Safini, Freyja, Zerya, Zara, Amy, Sofia, Leon, Roo, Michael, Leonardo, Gabriel.
Families keen to give athletics a go are invited to the Coburg Little Athletics “Come and Try Day” at Harold Stevens Athletics Track, Coburg, on Saturday 13 September 2025. A fun day for ages 5–16, with a sausage sizzle, welcoming environment, and a chance to try out different track and field events.
Our 5/6 students also took part in the District Basketball Day, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way they went about it. Every game was played with determination, resilience, and great sports spirit. The way our students encouraged each other on and off the court showed what being part of a team is all about.
A big thank you to our 3/4 teacher Kylie for her help at Athletics, to our 5/6 teacher Meerah for her basketball expertise and coaching, and to all of the parents who came along to support their kids and cheer on the teams. Special mention to Stuart for jumping in to help with the girls’ team, and Burney for his support at athletics.
We couldn’t do these events without everyone pitching in, it really shows the strong and supportive community we’ve got here at school. We’re already looking forward to more divisional athletics and team sports coming up!
Thanks,
Jack
