Year 1/2

Buongiorno! This is Archie and Anouk from the 1/2 area!
In Italian Phonics, we have been doing a revision of all the sounds we’ve learnt, starting from CV syllables.
In Lettura, we have been reading the adventures of some strange characters called Barbapapa. I (Archie) like Barbabarba because his name means beard beard and he loves art like Da Vinci. I (Anouk) like Barbabella because she always looks in the mirror, which is something I enjoy doing too. Her name includes the word beautiful in Italian.
In Scrittura, we have been learning Italian pronouns: did you know that there are two Italian words for YOU? If you are addressing one person, you use TU but if you are talking to more than one person, then you need to use VOI.
In Maths and Matematica, we are learning about place value. We are using the place value house, which shows migliaia (thousands), centinaia (hundreds), decine (tens) and unita (ones). We love the nasty game, in which we use the dice and try and create the biggest number!
