Foundation Class Newsletter

Our Foundation learners have been buzzing with excitement lately! Each morning, the children hone their reading skills by pairing up for shared reading sessions—and twice a week, we’re thrilled to have parents join us to read alongside the children. It’s fantastic to see such support enriching their learning.

We were also delighted to welcome friends from Newlands Kindergarten. Our Foundation superstars had the chance to showcase their growing reading skills and mentor their younger counterparts—an inspiring moment of leadership and connection.

A special highlight was a visit from our principal, Kristie, who read Wacky Wednesday to an absolutely thrilled group of listeners! The children were captivated by the fun and energy she brought to the story.

In our classrooms, Foundation students are diving into additive thinking—learning how to combine groups of objects to explore numbers. They're beginning to respond to stories in meaningful ways, saying things like, “This story reminds me of…” to make personal connections. And the creativity is flowing as they’ve started writing their own imaginative texts. Great work, everyone!”
