Kitchen News

From Erin, SAKG teacher

The Year 3’s are on a roll!

Over the past couple of weeks we have been practicing our rolling skills. First we wrapped a cabbage and carrot filling to make spring rolls.  Then we used apple and rhubarb to make turon. Next on the menu was samosa, we rolled out dough to form circles and then folded into half moons to create little crispy parcels filled with spiced potato, sweet potato and peas. We have also been practicing our measuring skills by reading recipes to measure out spices. The kitchen has smelt so wonderful and fragrant!

Our Day in the Kitchen - By 3B

"All hands on deck and very good to eat! Today we are making samosa and masala chai. Masala chai is a sweet spiced drink. Samosa is very good with the sauce!”

“Super fun, the samosa look like dumplings”

“ I really like wrapping the samosa and drinking the chai tea”

Big thanks to Esther ( our resident kitchen photographer) for the photo collages throughout the term.
