Fruit Salad, yummy yummy

Prep

This fortnight our preps learnt more about signing their feelings. Following on from term 2, our preps focused on the signs thirsty, hungry, strong, worried, smiley, emotion, curious, hopeful, patient, kind, confused and forgetful. We played 'table fruit salad' where students are allocated one of 4 emotion signs. Ms Simone signed "ready?" and the students respond with "ready" in Auslan, then she quickly signs 1 of the 4 emotions. The first student to stand up and sign the emotion correctly was the winner of that round.

Year 1

The year 1's completed a 'match the sign to the word' worksheet where they could enjoy decorating their characters afterwards with some calm 'lo-fi study music' (free music on YouTube, a lot of kids asked for the link!).

Year 2

The year 2's enjoyed a problem-solving mystery, where they needed to find the emotion being fingerspelled and design a face to match. It was wonderful to watch students discover the hidden meaning and sign the word in Auslan to one another.
