Group 2

It has been an exciting and busy Term 3 for our kinder students! Our Animal Theme has provided many hands-on opportunities to learn and explore as we discovered African animals, Australian animals, farm animals, insects, and even dinosaurs.
In literacy, students enjoyed a range of animal-themed stories including Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Explores Australia, and Dinoshapes. They engaged in related group activities such as making stick puppets, playdough and colouring projects inspired by the stories.
We had some wonderful incursions this term. During our Animal Incursion, the children had the chance to see and touch some fascinating Australian animals, including a baby crocodile, a huge wombat, snakes, and possums. Their curiosity and confidence shone as they asked questions, observed closely, and bravely interacted with the animals. We also welcomed Dr Nincompoop the Puppet Doctor, who filled the room with laughter, music, and so much energy while delivering a fun and educational performance that the students absolutely loved.
As part of Science Week, students explored cause and affect experiments. We investigated how baking soda and vinegar can cause a chemical reaction to inflate a balloon and created rain clouds in a jar, sparking lots of wonder and discussion.
Alongside these rich experiences, we have been so pleased to see the growth in students’ learning behaviours. They have shown improved collaboration during groupwork, working together, sharing ideas, and taking turns with greater confidence. Many students are also demonstrating more independence when engaging in rotational tasks and one-on-one sessions, showing persistence and enthusiasm for their learning.
It has truly been a term full of discovery, teamwork, and new skills – we are very proud of all the progress the children have made.
