Group 1

Term 3 what a glee!

It has been a Book Term for Group 1. Reading has been our main focus this term, getting our enthusiastic learners engaged in reading different book every week. With the theme “Animals” this term, we have read a variety of animal books with an extra something out of the theme the “Daddy” book to celebrate Father’s Day. During reading sessions at teacher-directed station, our brilliant learners have been amazing with their attending skills, counting, answering comprehension questions and even asking questions.

Book Week Dress Up Day was so much fun where we got to enjoy dressing up as our favourite book character. It was cool to see a big dinosaur playing with the rainbow spinner at table, Blippi driving one of the ride-on cars in the playground and a cute pillow pet dinosaur having a great time during outside play. Who would have thought a leopard, and a ratatouille mouse can be a good team to make learning so much fun!

Extension activities on reading were counting with 1:1 correspondence and recognising numbers. Counting has been exciting using animals and bugs toys and different animal worksheets.

Another focus this term was the small-group colouring in activity, colouring in different animals from the books we have read. It was wonderful to see how they have all embraced this new routine and has turned it into a whole class activity. They have all done beautiful sharing of the learning space and the colouring resources.

A huge thank you to our ever-supportive families! We value all your hard work for your child’s learning.

To our awesome learners, we are very proud of you!

Have a safe and restful spring break! Looking forward to seeing you all in Term 4.
