From the Principal...

Hello everyone and welcome to the final newsletter for term 3! And what a term it has been. Our students, staff and community have had the chance to enjoy so many wonderful opportunities over the duration of the term.

Thank-you for your ongoing support of the school and of course your children. We have enjoyed a wonderful term of learning filled with so many learning activities, events, celebration and learning.

Busy having fun!!

Over recent weeks we have enjoyed continuing to provide a range of extra curricular opportunities for our students including:

  • Year 3 Gymnastics program
  • Prep Nature Play adventures
  • Year 5 Kinder visits
  • Year 3 Oz Harvest program
  • Hoop Time – for our year 3/4 and 5/6 students

Congratulations to all of our amazing students on their fantastic work over this term. We are so very proud of how the students have engaged with the curriculum and participated so energetically with the range of learning and extra curricular opportunities that have been on offer. It certainly has been an action packed term and I know that everyone will enjoy and embrace the school holiday break!

We are fortunate to be part of such a wonderful school community and I thank all of our staff for their hard work and the positive enthusiasm in which they continue to display in support of our students. I also extend a huge thank-you to all of our parents and carers for the manner in which you have all supported your children and the school over the past term. Our team approach to supporting the students, their learning and their interpersonal growth is a credit to everyone.

Wishing you all a wonderful break over the holidays and we look forward to seeing everyone back safe, healthy, happy and rested for term 4 on Monday 6th October.

I hope you can all enjoy the upcoming school holiday break and can enjoy some fun and relaxation.

As we look ahead to term 4 please note Sunday 19th October in your diary. On the day we will enjoy a whole school Working Bee. With thanks to the PTA for their support of this community event.

There will be lots of activities happening that will support our school in beautification and improvements.

Amongst other things activities such as:

At the start of term 4 we will communicate further details and provide the opportunity for families to ‘sign up’ for various elements of school improvement. I hope you can join us on the day to help support our awesome school in developing our spaces.

Welcome Back

In term 4 we welcome back our Assistant Principal, Jessica Merrtitt who will be returning to MEPS from parental leave in a part time capacity, two days per week (Mon and Wed). We are excited to have Jessica re-join the team.

Canteen

We also acknowledge a change of staffing in your canteen. Dee has decided to pursue some further study and a career change. This means Dee has departed MEPS after 3 years as our canteen manager. We thank her so much for supporting our school and we will miss her greatly but wish her well in her future endeavours and the next chapter. Replacement staffing will be confirmed into term 4.

Sports Colours

Today we enjoyed sports colours day and it was great to see everyone supporting their favourite teams!

If your team is still in the AFL finals race, good luck!

Things are getting intense in my house….

Have a wonderful school holiday break!

Please be reminded that school resumes on Monday 6th October at 8.45am.
