Prep News

In reading we have been learning more features of an information text. We have explored the difference between labels (nouns that name a photo) and captions (little bits of information about a photo). We have also been making connections while reading. We "activate our prior knowledge" before we read to discover what we already know about the topic, then discuss how we know that? Did we experience it in real life? see in on TV or read it?

In Phonics lessons, we have been learning all the or sounds, finding and mapping various words. 

In writing we continue to write our autobiography. We have completed the chapters What I look like? Where I live? What I eat? Interesting facts about me?

In Maths we have started an Australian money unit, learning the value of notes and coins. We are now learning how to add notes and coins together to make new values.
