TERM 3 WEEK 6 2025

Week 8 Update

As we approach the end of the term, I want to acknowledge the resilience and effort shown by both staff and students. It has been a wonderful term of learning and achievement, and everyone is now looking forward to some warmer weather, a well-earned two-week break, and quality time with family and friends.

It is always a pleasure to witness the exceptional teaching and learning taking place across our school. Our students and staff continually strive for excellence, showing a strong commitment to growth and improvement. This dedication truly reflects the values we hold at LNPS, and I am proud of the collective achievements of our school community.

Staffing

As we approach the end of Term 3 and begin preparations for Term 4, we are pleased to confirm our staffing arrangements.

Lauren McCulloch will be taking Long Service Leave from Week 10 of this term and continuing into Term 4. Lauren has also been appointed to a new teaching position in 2026 and will be farewelling LNPS. Next term, we will take the opportunity to celebrate her time and achievements at LNPS together as a school community. We wish her all the very best for a well-deserved break and sincerely thank her for her ongoing contribution to our school.

As always, our staffing decisions have been made with a strong focus on ensuring stability, continuity, and the best outcomes for our students.

In Week 10, both Mirjana and I will be on leave. During this time, Anton Starr will step into the role of Acting Principal, with Maddy Hicks and Jonathon Lamb serving as Acting Leaders. We are very fortunate as a school to have such capable and dedicated staff who are able to take on these responsibilities. Their leadership will ensure continuity and support across our community.

We are grateful for the dedication and flexibility of our staff and appreciate the support of our families as we ensure continuity of teaching and learning across the school.

R U OK? Day – A Conversation Could Change a Life

R U OK? Day 2025 is on Thursday, September 11, 2025. This day is Australia's national day of action to remind people to have meaningful conversations with those around them and start checking in on their mental health and wellbeing.

Life has its ups and downs, and chances are someone you know may be going through a tough time. Your genuine support can make a real difference — whether they’re facing something big or small.

Are they really OK? Ask them today.

A simple conversation could change a life.

You don’t need to be an expert to help. By knowing what to say, you can make someone feel supported and encourage them to seek help long before they reach a crisis point. This can have a lasting and positive impact.

The R U OK? website has excellent free resources, including guidance on what to do after you’ve asked “R U OK?”: www.ruok.org.au

Sometimes the best way to connect is over a cuppa. Conversations don’t always have to be heavy — chatting about work, sport, or family life can ease everyday stresses. But if someone does open up, you can use R U OK?’s 4 conversation steps to show your support and help them find strategies to manage the load.

Together, we can build stronger connections and remind those around us that they don’t have to face challenges alone.

Because in the time it takes to have a cuppa, you could start a conversation that could change a life.

Festival of Music

Our Festival of Music choir students will take part in their Dress Rehearsal and Performance from 1:30pm – 9:30pm. This is always a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talent and dedication of our students on a big stage.

We extend our congratulations and best wishes to all involved, and a special congratulations and good luck to Jonas Mychalyn, who has been selected to host two of the performances an outstanding achievement!
