Library Update

Library Borrowing
A friendly reminder that students visit the library each week to borrow books. To help your child participate in regular borrowing, please ensure they bring their library bag on their scheduled library day each week. Please also make sure library bags are clearly labelled with your child’s name and class so that misplaced bags and books can be easily returned.
We kindly ask that any overdue library books are returned as soon as possible so that other students have the opportunity to borrow and enjoy them.
Borrowing books each week is an important part of developing a love of reading. Regular reading helps children build their confidence, vocabulary, imagination, and comprehension skills. Reading at home each day, even for a short time, can make a significant difference to your child’s learning progress.
We encourage all students to borrow books weekly and enjoy sharing stories at home with family members.
Questions to Ask Your Child About Their Reading
You can support your child’s reading by asking questions such as:
- What book have you borrowed from the library this week?
- What is your book about?
- Who are the main characters?
- What has happened so far in the story?
- What do you think will happen next?
- What was your favourite part and why?
- Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
“There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island.”
- Walt Disney
