Last week Year 11 and 12 Vocational Major students delivered donations they have been collecting to Pinchapoo and then spent the day sorting donations into 800 personal hygiene packs now ready for distribution to disadvantaged men, women and children across Australia.

Six Year 12 students are once again volunteering at the Vermont South library providing tech support to people in the community. They were happy to see some of their regular clients from 2025 return for assistance. Year 11 VM students will return to the library in Term 3 if you would like to book in a session. Our young volunteers have been involved in supporting older people to develop practical skills such as how to use ChatGPT, Canva, resetting and saving passwords, connecting to wifi, understanding privacy, online shopping, basic storage questions, sharing photos and setting reminders.

Year 12 students are currently attending the men’s shed each fortnight to participate in a program that creates significant intergenerational benefits, such as skill sharing, improved mental health and community connection.

So far, they have built 3 picnic tables which will be delivered to school for students to use during break times.
