Education in Faith

As we journey through the final weeks of Lent, Week 6 invites us to slow down, reflect deeply, and prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter. This is a significant time in the Church’s calendar, where we are called to remember Jesus’ love, sacrifice, and the hope that comes through His resurrection.

We are encouraged to think about how we can continue to grow in faith, both at school and at home. It is a time to reflect on how we treat others, the choices we make, and how we can show kindness in our daily lives. As we prepare for Easter, we are reminded that even in difficult moments, there is always hope, new beginnings, and the opportunity to grow.

As a school community, we continue to support our students in living out these values through their actions, relationships and learning.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS REFLECTIVE WALK

Please add to your calendar our annual Stations of the Cross Prayer Walk that will take place on Thursday 2nd March.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together.

Participating in a Stations of the Cross prayer walk is a meaningful way for students and our school community to enter into the journey of Jesus during His final hours. Rooted in the tradition of Lent, this experience invites us to slow down, be present, and reflect deeply on the love and sacrifice of Jesus.

The Stations of the Cross is made up of a series of moments, or “stations,” that tell the story of Jesus’ Passion—from His condemnation to His death and burial. During the prayer walk, students move quietly from one station to the next, pausing at each point to listen, reflect, and pray.

At each station, students are encouraged to:

  • Listen to a short reading or description of what happened to Jesus
  • Reflect on what this moment means and how it connects to their own lives
  • Pray together, offering thoughts, intentions or silent prayer
  • Engage through simple actions such as responding to prompts, observing images, or taking part in a symbolic gesture

This prayerful experience helps students to not only learn about the Passion of Jesus but to feel connected to it in a personal and meaningful way. It encourages empathy, compassion, and an understanding of the depth of Jesus’ love.

Through participating in the Stations of the Cross, students are invited to consider how they can live out these values in their own lives—showing kindness, forgiveness, and care for others. It is a powerful opportunity for reflection as we prepare our hearts for Easter.

We hope to see you there…
