YEAR 5/6 CAMP

The Year 5/6 camp to Cottage by the Sea was an incredible experience filled with fun, adventure, and wonderful memories. The children had an absolute blast and enthusiastically participated in a wide range of activities throughout the camp.

Without a doubt, the most popular activity was boogie boarding at the beach, where students spent time riding the waves and enjoying the beautiful coastline. Another highlight was our trip to Barwon Heads for rockpooling. Students were full of excitement as they carefully lifted rocks in search of marine life like crabs, starfish, sea snails.

The evening activities were equally memorable. Students loved the night walk through the coastal bushland up to the historic war trenches, and there was plenty of laughter and energy as they played together under the night lights in the camp playground.

The Cottage by the Sea camp staff were absolutely amazing and built such positive connections with both students and staff. Their enthusiasm, care, and support helped make the camp such a success. Thank You to them all.

I feel very fortunate to have been part of our very first MPS camp to Cottage by the Sea, and we are already looking forward to returning in 2027. Next time, our Year 5/6 students will enjoy an extended 3-night, 4-day experience, while our Year 3/4 students will take part in a 2-night, 3-day camp adventure back at Cottage by the Sea.

SPECIAL LUNCH DAY #1

What a fantastic success our Hotdog Special Lunch Day Fundraiser was — the first of many fundraisers to come at MPS!

A huge thank you to the newly established Parents and Friends Association of MPS, whose efforts certainly did not go unnoticed. The team worked like clockwork, and the preparation and delivery of lunches to classrooms was seamless.

Special thanks to Melissa, who oversaw the parent group and was super organised as always. Thank you also to Mrs Millan, our office staff, and the generous suppliers who donated the hotdogs to support our fundraiser.

Funds raised will go towards minor capital works around our school and the purchase of valuable learning resources for our students.

We raised $1046.00 and made a profit of $605.80. Thank you to everyone who supported the day — we truly appreciate it. Watch this space for our upcoming second special lunch day.

CHILD SAFE STANDARDS Information for families and school community

Meadows Primary School is committed to providing an environment where students are safe and feel safe. 

Our child safety framework includes policies, codes and procedures that explain how we support and maintain the safety and wellbeing of our students and protect them from harm. It includes our: 

• Child Safety Code of Conduct, which outlines acceptable and unacceptable behaviours for all staff and volunteers at our school. 

• Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy

• Child Abuse (including grooming) - Identification and Response Policy and Procedure

We are also committed to continuous improvement of our child safety framework. We are currently reviewing our child safety policies and practices to ensure they are up-to-date and effective. 

Our students and families are important partners in this process. We welcome your feedback or ideas on ways we can improve our approach to child safety and wellbeing.
