Principal's Message

A Message from the Principal
Together We Learn, Together We Flourish
Dear Parents and Carers,
As a school community, we are continually striving to provide the very best learning opportunities for every student. Last week we were fortunate to host a visit from Mr Patrick Ellis, the head of the Learning Outcomes Unit from CSPD. During his time at St Margaret Mary's, he visited classrooms across the school and observed learning in action.
What stood out most to him was the exceptional engagement of our students. From Kindergarten through to Year 6, students were actively involved in their learning, confidently discussing what they were learning, why they were learning it, and how they knew they were succeeding. He was particularly impressed by the high levels of student engagement across all grades and the positive learning culture evident throughout the school.
This feedback is a wonderful affirmation of the dedication and professionalism of our teachers. It reflects the strong focus we place on teaching and learning at St Margaret Mary's and the commitment of our staff to ensuring every child is challenged, supported and inspired to flourish. We are incredibly proud of both our students and staff for the learning culture they continue to create together each day.
Tonight, we celebrate another important aspect of learning at StMM's with our inaugural Innovation and Creative Arts Expo. I have had the privilege of having a sneak peek at the displays and artworks, and I can honestly say they are superb. The creativity, imagination and skill demonstrated by our students is something to be celebrated.
I hope many families are able to join us this evening to experience and enjoy the incredible work on display.
A special thank you must go to Miss Amanda Mekdessi for her organisation, leadership and unwavering commitment to the Creative Arts. Her passion and dedication have been instrumental in bringing this event to life. Thank you also to the many staff members who have supported the preparation of the expo. Once again, our staff have gone above and beyond to provide meaningful opportunities for our students to shine.
I look forward to seeing you tonight.
Kind regards,
Grace
