Primary Wellbeing

MECS has commenced the ‘Thrive Kingdom Wellbeing for Kids’ program throughout the Primary School. This program is all about giving kids a FIRM foundation to build their lives with God upon.

Specifically, it is about:

F - Faith. Establishing a close connection with God and using this relationship as an anchor for anything life might (and will) bring.

I- Identity. Understanding who you are in God as well as your personal identity (how God has uniquely wired you).

R  -  Resilience. Having kingdom tools to confidently tackle tough times with Jesus.

M  -  Mobilise. Using your God given strengths, gifts and abilities to impact the world around you.

The program teaches the following topics:

Growth mindset. Risk taking. Getting active. Thankfulness. Identity in God. Problem solving. Mobilising strengths. Navigating tough times. Perseverance. Dreaming big. Keeping it in perspective. Feelings and thoughts. Sailing the seas of friendship. Filling your happy tank.

Thrive Kingdom Wellbeing for Kids also focuses on resourcing parents to support their  child’s  wellbeing.  As your kids are taught the program, you will periodically receive information and resources to support their learning.

In addition, on the ‘For Parents’ page of the website (https://www.thrivekingdomwellbeing.com.au/), you can find a number or resources

around common issues that impact student wellbeing.

You may also like to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more wellbeing tips and information. Finally, each term you will receive a ‘Parent’s Treasure Chest’.

These target specific parenting challenges and strategies to address them.

Our deep hope is that with the tools in our program plus parental and school support, your kids would become like “a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers." (Psalm 1:3 NIV)

If you have any questions about the program, please contact your child’s teacher or Danny Gamble, Wellbeing Coordinator at MECS.
