Beginning Well

A Secondary Community Evening

Monday 16 February 7PM

 

Parents of Secondary students are warmly invited to attend MECS for an information and connection evening as we share about the year ahead for your child in learning, camps and technology use. (Note that this is a parent only event). This event will be held in the Gym as part of our Welcome Week program.

 

Session topics will be presented by Year Level Coordinators and the Secondary Leadership Team.

7.00pm: Welcome from Mrs Emma Allison, Head of Secondary

 

7.15pm SESSION A 

  • Parenting Digital Natives - The Qustodio App - This session will focus in on technology usage and how we can work together to foster healthy digital habits and a safe online environment for your child. We will introduce you to the new parent resource, Qustodio. Together, we can create a safer, healthier digital experience for our young people.
  • The Year 7 Learning Program and Camp Information - This session is designed for parents of 2026 Year 7 students.

  • Habits for the Senior School Journey - This session is designed to equip parents of Yr 10/11/12 students with practical insights and shared understanding to confidently support their children through the academic, social and wellbeing challenges of the senior school years.

     

7.45pm SESSION B

8.15pm SESSION C 

  • The Year 9 Journey Program and Camp  - This session is designed for parents of 2026 Year 9 students (please note: this is a 45min session finishing at 9pm)
  • Habits for the Senior School Journey - This session is designed to equip parents of Yr 10/11/12 students with practical insights and shared understanding to confidently support their children through the academic, social and wellbeing challenges of the senior school years.
