STEM Rocketry Professional Development
On Wednesday, 11 February 2026, Miss Maddie, Mr. T, and I had an incredible day at the STEM Rocketry Project & Grant – Primary Professional Development session at Epping Views Primary School, hosted by Immersive Education.
We explored the science, history, and engineering of rockets—and got to design, build, and launch our own! Our bottle rocket flew the highest and furthest, and we were so proud of our prototype and the teamwork that made it possible.
The professional learning session gave us hands-on experience and practical strategies to bring the STEM Rocketry Project into our classrooms. Students in Grades 5 and 6 will get to design, build, and launch their own bottle rockets and ESTES model rockets, while collecting data and applying STEM concepts such as forces, measurement, ratios, geometric reasoning, critical thinking, and engineering design. Extension opportunities are available for Grades 3 and 4.
We can’t wait for our students to experience the excitement of designing, testing, and launching rockets—learning firsthand how rockets work, and witnessing history in the making as NASA prepares to return to the Moon!
Check out some photos from our amazing day—what a blast it was!
