ART Update

St Fidelis Students Shine at Catholic Education Week Creative Arts Exhibition
Students from Catholic schools across the Archdiocese of Melbourne are once again showcasing their incredible creativity at the annual Creative Arts Exhibition, held as part of Catholic Education Week. This exciting event gives young artists the chance to share their talents with the community through both a live gallery at the Catholic Leadership Centre in East Melbourne and a digital gallery, making it accessible for schools, families, and the wider Catholic community.
The theme for this year’s Catholic Education Week is “Christ beside me: Walking in the footsteps of Saint Patrick.” I encouraged all Year 5 students to explore, design, and create artworks reflecting this inspiring theme. Archbishop Peter Comensoli has expressed his hope for a wider range of religious-themed artworks in the 2026 exhibition, and our students have certainly risen to the challenge. Their pieces beautifully express the message of walking alongside Christ, inspired by the example of Saint Patrick.
Each school was invited to submit only five pieces, and our students’ creativity stood out so much that four of our artworks were selected for the 2026 Creative Arts Exhibition. This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to their talent, dedication, and imagination.
If your child’s artwork has been chosen for exhibition, this is a special moment to celebrate! I encourage you to visit the exhibition, enjoy their creations in person, and capture the moment with a photo. Please feel free to email any photos of your child with their artwork to joef@sfmoreland.catholic.edu.au—I would love to share these proud moments with the St Fidelis community.
