Year 5/6 News

Hello everyone!
In Maths, students continued exploring data representation and interpretation. We identified the mode by finding the value with the highest frequency, learned the difference between nominal and ordinal data, and explored the shape of data distributions. Students also created and analysed line graphs and side-by-side column graphs.
In Inquiry, we explored Safer Internet Day and learned how to use the internet safely and responsibly. We attended a Zoom session with Optus Digital Thumbprint, where we gained practical strategies for positive online behaviour. This supported our understanding of how responsible choices help build a strong community of learners in our classroom.
In Literacy, we have been exploring our class novel War Horse and building our understanding through comprehension tasks. Students have answered questions, reflected on characters and events, compared perspectives, and practised visualising by drawing Joey using descriptive details from the text. These activities are strengthening our critical thinking and reading skills.
In Religion, students created a special prayer for our class prayer book, reflecting on our values and what is important to us as a learning community.
Home Learning begins this week. Today they have brought it home to work on for the week, due Friday. Attached are the Home Learning answers, if you could please take the time to correct with your child.
Also a big congratulations to our students on a successful first round of interschool sport last Friday!
